Scott and Jill Johnson grew up in Christian homes in Michigan where God allowed their musical talents to be developed. Their heart for local church music ministry was influenced by their pastors and music pastors. With Scott playing the bass trombone and Jill playing the French horn, they met in college while on band tour. Scott graduated from Bible college with a degree in Church Music, and Jill graduated with a degree in Office Administration and a minor in music, studying piano. Scott went on to receive further training from the University of Michigan.
Scott has served in various churches in Michigan, North Carolina, and Georgia, as well as in Christian schools as a band, choral, and handbell director, with Jill assisting him in the music ministry. They are both gifted musicians who teach students throughout the U.S. and around the world.
They currently live near Shreveport, Louisiana. Scott enjoys cycling and working on home improvement projects, and Jill enjoys reading and financial planning.
The heartbeat of our ministry
We have a two-fold mission at Noteworthy Ministries: (1) teaching the next generation to develop their musical abilities to worship God; and (2) assisting the music ministries in local churches through presenting a conservative philosophy of music ministry, training musicians in the local church, and offering musical resources. Hebrews 12:28-29 states, “Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire.” God is truly deserving of the very best and the most excellent music we can offer Him in praise for Who He is and for what He has done.
