Noteworthy Ministries’ president Wayne Johnson is responsible for raising his own personal support to pay his salary. This is in keeping with the traditional ways missionaries have supported their families.

wayne noteworthy minitriesWayne founded Noteworthy Ministries in 1998. He  began attending Dallas Theological Seminary in the fall of 1999 and graduated in 2002. He was ordained at Crossroads Bible Church later that year.Wayne and wife JoAnne have been married for twenty two years.  He begin playing guitar while in the Air Force and soon discovered that learning guitar was pivotal in his overcoming a chronic stuttering problem.

Wayne accepted Christ at the age of 46. His heart was drawn to God while he was working part time at a local hospital. Wayne had been hired to go from room to room playing guitar and singing for patients. Those he played for would often tell him what Jesus had done in their life.  While leading worship with a local prison ministry Wayne’s heart begin to lean toward the idea of birthing a somewhat unusual ministry. The vision of this ministry was to impact youth living in disadvantaged and at risk environments by combining a Bible study and guitar lessons, with participants receiving a guitar of their own.

After prayer and discussion with JoAnne, both felt that God was indeed calling Wayne into full time ministry. Shortly thereafter in late 1998, Wayne left his full time job and founded Noteworthy Ministries.
