Program Overview

The Impact
What does it mean to a young person as they look back after competing three months of studying the Bible along with guitar lessons? How does it feel to be presented with a guitar of their own?  For many of the young people we serve this might very well be the first time they have actually set a goal and stayed with it to completion.

They now have a more personal and intimate relationship with the Lord Jesus, something we all need. And they now know and understand that God loves them unconditionally and their happiness is important to Him. In total, the young person knows about grace.

They can now play guitar, a skill that at one time or another most every young person dreams about. And learning to play guitar will change your life, making it a better place to be. Have you ever heard a guitar player say they wish they hadn’t learn to play? Me neither.

Amazing Grace Bible & Guitar Study.
This is a three-month program made up of a weekly 45-minute Bible study followed by a 45-minute guitar lesson. Upon completion of the program, a graduation ceremony is held where the kids are formally presented with their guitars along with a certificate of completion. Whenever possible we like for our kids to play their as group for peers..

Program Funding
As the majority of our ministry partners have few financial resources, there is no charge for the amazing Grace Bible & Guitar Study. If you can afford to fund all or part of your program, we ask that you do so. If your organization has no available funding, and you would like to raise funds, we will assist you in searching for a funding source. Regardless, we are committed to providing you with the needed tools to minister to your kids.  We do ask our partners who have financial resources available to help offset the cost of their program.

Whenever possible, we ask that the kids in your program work together as a team on a fund raising project. These funds will go toward funding for another program. Working together to raise funds also provides an for the kids to work together as a group toward serving and building into the lives of others, something that Christians do.

Program Kit.
Each young person enrolled in The Amazing Grace Bible & Guitar Study receives a program kit valued at $200.00  Program instructors receive an instructor’s kit, which includes a program curriculum guide.

Program Instructors/Leaders
Our partners select their own instructors. This is in accordance with our view that the most effective approach for ministering to youth happens within small group settings, led by mature Christians who have firsthand knowledge of the unique challenges and needs within their own communities.

Our partners select their own instructors to teach the Bible Study and guitar lessons.
Usually there is one instructor for the Bible study and another for the guitar lessons. However, they may be the same person. Experience has shown that at least two instructors work best. We recommend the maximum number of participants for each class to be twelve. If there are more than twelve, please consider having additional instructors.

Each of our partners have their own varying and unique requirements. We are sensitive to these essentials and strive to place as few expectations on them as possible.  Please feel free to contact us if you have questions regarding our basic format as outlined below.

The safety and well being of the kids
Each and every young person is precious. To ensure their safety our program we hold our partners are responsible for ensuring adequate background checks and screening procedures have been completed for the instructors/leaders they choose. This understanding is part of the partnership agreement our partners will be asked to sign along with a representative from Noteworthy Ministries..

Graduation
This is an excellent opportunity for class participants to be recognized for completing the program. They are formally awarded with their guitar at this time. Also, it’s good for your kids to play their guitars as a group for their peers and adults as well. The key is for the instructor to play along with the kids. They need to feel safe. In a kids mind, the worst thing that can happen to them is to look foolish in front of their friends. They should feel and the instructors are to reassure them with words something like; “I’m not going to let anything happen to you., If you get lost look at me. I will be there for you”.

Program Participants
We recommend that your kids be individually intervened by you or someone from your organization. The below form is one that we have put together and found to be effective.

The purpose of the interview is to create a time for you to set down face to face with your kids, to making sure they understand what is expected from them, and what they can expect from you. You may use this form, use it as a guideline or develop your own. If you come with your own form we would appreciate  a copy so we can pass it on to others.
