Program Leadership
How many leaders should each program have?
Some of our partners have the same person teaching both the Bible study and guitar lesson components of the program, while others have separate leaders. Whenever possible, it’s preferable to have an assistant for each leader. Having two leaders allows each student to receive additional individual attention, and ensures the program leader has needed support.
Four levels of Partner Leadership
• Program Manager
• Bible Study Leader
• Guitar Teacher
• Assistant Leaders & Teachers
Program Manager – Responsibilities
• Signs the Partnership Agreement and ensures compliance.
• Selects leaders and assistant leaders, and monitors performance
• Ensures all necessary interviews and background checks are completed for all instructors,
assistants and other adults that are in contact with program participants, prior to the first
program session.
• Ensures a safe environment for participants and leaders.
Bible & Guitar Study Program Leaders
Usually there is one instructor for the Bible study and another for the guitar lessons. However, this may be the same person. Experience has shown that at least two instructors work best.
Bible & Guitar Study Leader – Responsibilities
• Lead the Bible and/or guitar study
• Ensure safety and well being of the kids participating in program.
• Keep the Program Manager advised on the progress of the program.
• Contact Noteworthy Ministries if assistance is needed.
Assistant Leaders & Teachers
• Assist class leaders in teaching participants
• Lead the class should the leader be absent
Instructor Training
Whenever possible, a member of the Noteworthy Ministries staff will travel to the partners location for instructor training. When this is not possible, Skype, DVD’s or other technical tools will be used to provide training/assistance.
