Amazing Grace Instructors

Whenever possible, a member of the Noteworthy Ministries staff will travel to the partners location to help train Amazing Grace Instructors. The training is based on effective strategies and techniques for teaching group guitar lessons. The teacher does not need to be a formally trained guitarist. They need only to be able the play the songs they are teaching. The most important thing is for the kids to have success as soon as possible. We focus on teaching how to make the needed chords and proper rhythm for playing and singing the complete song. This takes commitment and patience on the part of the instructor.

Are there any special strategies for teaching guitar in a class setting?
There are distinct differences between teaching individual guitar lessons, and teaching guitar in a classroom environment. A critical element when teaching class lessons is to keep the intensity level high by keeping the class moving. We suggest you adapt a policy of not answering any questions or discussing anything other than what is being taught at that moment. Non-related questions can be answered after the class ends.

Are there any additional training tools for the guitar teacher?
A guidebook is provided that will assist in the teaching of guitar in a classroom setting.
We have prepared an instructional DVD that can be used by the guitar teacher to facilitate teaching the guitar, or as a reference. The fundamentals needed to play three songs are included for: Amazing Grace (two versions-a traditional version and dynamic beat), Lord I Lift Your Name on High and Step by Step.
